

on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. She was born April 7, 1928 in Belfield, North Dakota to John and
Katherine (Kubischta) Schwindt.
Catherine lived most of her life in Yakima. She was a life-long member of St Paul Cathedral. As a
young woman, she worked at the old Newberry’s Soda fountain and loved to tell stories of her time
there.
She married George Trenkenschuh on February 15, 1947, they were married 62 years. Together they
raised four children; Linda, Dennis, Debra and Shari.
Family was always most important to her. Catherine loved her children and grandchildren very much.
She truly enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they and their parents visited
her at the nursing home. Catherine would talk of the visits for days afterwards.
Catherine is survived by her children: Linda (Gene) Powers of Redmond, WA; Dennis (Vikki)
Trenkenschuh of Yakima; Debra (Vern) Ford of Selah; Shari (Peter) Mocellin of Yakima;
grandchildren, Chris Ford, PFC Megan Powers, Erin Vanderwel, Daniel Trenkenschuh, Sarah
Trenkenschuh, Josh Mocellin and Noah Mocellin; great grandchildren, (twins) Evin and Isaac Ford
and Kaleigh Trenkenschuh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Trenkenschuh; parents, John and Katherine
(Kubischta) Schwindt; brothers, Nick Schwindt, John Roller, Al Roller, Val Roller, Pete Schwindt,
Harry Schwindt, Ed Schwindt; sisters, Clara Copeland, Ida Schwindt, Lena Heiser, Tillie Diebold and
Margaret Zichert.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, January 29 & 30, 2011 at
Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima. A Vigil service will begin at 5:00 p.m., Sunday,
January 30th.
Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 31st at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery
