Charles Milton Ellis, 94, A long-life resident of Tieton, WA , passed away Wednesday May 25th, 2022, with family by his side. He was born to Acie and Rosa May Ellis on August 30, 1927, in Reamsville, Kansas.
As a young man he served in WWII as an equipment operator and responsible for the maintenance of gasoline powered bulldozers at the Engineer Specialist School in Lansberg, Germany. After the war he moved to Tieton, WA.. In 1953 he started working for the next 44 years at Marley’s as a truck driver.
He was a true cowboy at heart with a great love for horses. In 1965 he became a member of the Highland Saddle Club and eventually became president. Charlie and his good friend Bert built the arena at the saddle club, where many people had the pleasure of doing play days. He enjoyed working at the rest stops (donations from coffee, goodies) to raise money for the saddle club. It brought Charlie great joy to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren ride his horses.
Charlie is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his daughter: Charlotte (Rick) Henderson, granddaughter: Heather (Jake) Dial, granddaughter Kennedy Henderson and grandson Travis (Holly) Henderson, great grandchildren: Gabby and Max, longtime girlfriend Felisa Cox, children Denise, Cindy and family, along with many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Arthur, Howard, Merald and Roger, sisters: Nina and Ruby, daughter Snookie (Nina Jean)
