His family moved to Montana and with two brothers they lived on a family farm at Valier.
Cory attended school at Valier. Cory worked on several farms as a young man, until he was drafted into the U.S. army where he served in the U.S. and Italy. His primary training in the service was as a teletype operator during the Viet Nam war. While stationed in Italy he toured Europe before his discharge from the armed services, and after his discharge he returned to Montana.
Back in Montana Cory married JoAnn Widhalm and they had two daughters, Julie Marie and Carol Sue. The family lived in Montana for a few years where Cory was employed at the Smelter in Great Falls. When the Smelter closed down the family moved to Tacoma, Wa. and lived there for many years before moving to Yakima,Washington where Cory raised fruit on their orchard at Selah. In Tacoma he worked as a salesman for Kirby vacuums.
He and his wife divorced and he later married Brenda Denson. After living in Yakima for several years they moved to the acreage on Konnowac Pass near Moxee where they lived until he became ill. He was a caregiver for his wife Brenda until he became to ill to do so.
In recent years Cory served as a postal worker in the Yakima area. During his lifetime he had many occupations, including working in the oil fields in Mt., and at the lumber mill in Moxee as well as those already mentioned . He grew fruit and vegetables in the countryside near Moxee, Wa. where he and his second wife Brenda lived up to his death. He had a heart for all the cats that people dropped off in the country and faithfully fed and watered them until he was unable to do so.
