David Bernard Seaman was called to Heaven on August 24, 2022, at the Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima. He was born on January 6, 1942, in Spalding, Nebraska to Bernard and Maxine Seaman. The family moved to the Yakima Valley area in the early 1950’s where he graduated from Toppenish High School. Dave married the love of his life, Rose (Moser) on August 4, 1962, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Yakima.
Dave worked for Del Monte in Toppenish as a tenant farmer and retired as a mechanic after 44 years of service. Dave and Rose raised their four children in Mabton and were committed to attend as many sporting events and extra-curricular activities all four kids were involved in. This commitment continued with his seven grandchildren as well. He was proud to be called Papa and always had a big smile when he saw the grandkids.
Many fond memories were created over the years with all the family camping trips, the snowmobile adventures with friends and family, the many versions of the “elk camp” tales, the road trips to Nebraska which include visiting all the casinos along the way, and the annual Seaman Family vacations in Lincoln City, Oregon and more recently to Lake Curlew. Dave worked hard to support his family, embraced laughter to enjoy each moment with loved ones, and prayed often to keep his faith strong. All who knew Dave will miss him greatly.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose, his four children and spouses, Scott & Susan of Zillah, Dean & Deslie of North Bend, Sheryl & Mike of Selah, and Darren & Laura of Yakima; his seven grandchildren, Chris, Tyler (Lacie), Dominique (Colby), Emily (Ethan), Hayden, Devin, and Donna Rose and one great-grandchild Schaefer; his two brothers Dennis of Olympia and Dan (Dena) of Selah.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents Bernard & Maxine Seaman.
