

Don was born in Colorado on October 27, 1935. He moved with his family to Washington 2 years later. He farmed potatoes with his dad in the Warden, WA area in the early 50’s.
Don met the love of his life, Inis, while she was in high school and they quickly fell in love. They were married in 1954 in Yakima, WA, and together had 9 kids, 19 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Don and Inis enjoyed camping, fishing, collecting antiques, and spending time with family. Don worked at Richardson’s tire shop owned by his father-in-law, and then worked at Tire Sales & Service where he later retired. Following Don’s retirement, he and Inis traveled around the U.S. in their motor home. After Inis passed away in 2004, he loved visiting with loved ones and telling stories at the annual Potter family reunions.
Survivors include 7 children – Jim (Kari), Dee (Steve), Galen (Deanna), Brett, Kevin, Beverly (Rob), and Jari (Dan), 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, and brother Gary (Cathy). Don was preceded in death by his wife, Inis, 2 daughters, Joy and Kookie, parents Leonard & Helen, brother Lynn, sister Julie, grandson Anthony, and great-granddaughter Emily.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Yakima Foursquare Church, 700 N. 40th Avenue.
