Donna Jean Evans

Donna J. Evans, age 87, went to be with the Lord and family members on October 16, 2025. Donna was born in Omak, Washington on July 6, 1938 to Herbert and Margaret (Anderson) Buchert and after several homes around the state they settled in Yakima. After attending Yakima High School, she married her husband Jim Evans making their home in Yakima. Being intelligent, hardworking and ambitious she pursued and accomplished getting her Real Estate Brokers License. Shortly thereafter, she and her father opened their own Real Estate office, Apple Valley Realty, while also helping in the family business of Evans and Son.

Donna and Jim enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and going to Kauai, Hawaii where they eventually built a vacation home.

After Donna’s father passed, Donna and her mother spent more time together and took numerous trips around the country to see sights and visit friends. And of course, there was the almost weekly trip to the casino. Donna and Jim found a new vacation spot in Mexico and made many trips to enjoy the warm weather along with beautiful views. Jim passed away in 2014 after 58 years of marriage. Trips to Mexico continued but a little less frequently.

Donna is a proud person, of her accomplishments, her home and of her family, which she dearly loved. She took excellent care of all of us throughout her life, providing everything and teaching us what we needed to know. Donna is survived by son Jamie Evans (Maurine), daughter Jena Evans, grandsons Bradley Evans, Brett Evans and Matthew Evans. Special friends include Marilyn, Darlene, Juan and Jimmy. Preceded in death by her husband Jim, son Jerry, parents Herb and Margret Buchert, and in-laws Jess and Jeri Evans.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Yakima Humane Shelter or Fircrest School in Shoreline, Washington.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 am at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
