Doris Ann Ross

Doris Ann Ross, or Dorie Lou passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was known for being a spirited, adventurous, and courageous wife, mother, sister, cousin, grandmother and friend. There was never a challenge she wouldn’t take head on. She was always up for another great adventure and found happiness in everything she ever did. Doris loved to travel and spent her whole life planning the next trip. Whether it was driving across the United States a couple of times a year, flying to the tropics with the warm weather and beautiful sandy beaches, or driving to the Oregon Coast for a couple of days, she always loved to be on vacation. Her favorite places were beaches on the ocean. Her favorite was the beaches of Bermuda with Mexico coming in second. Later, her favorite was Gearhart near Seaside. She loved driving on the beach with a full-moon behind her, watching the waves roll in and out and telling everyone stories about how she was a mermaid in a past life. Mom has always said the ocean makes her feel calm and whole.

Doris is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Ross; daughter, Carrie and Carlos Trevino; daughter, Shelie and Brian Aman; son, Charles and CarriAnn Ross; Step children, James and Karen Ross and Rita Ross Brandt; grandchildren, Andrew and Samuel Palachuk, Rebecca Thornton, Vincent and Lucas Ross, Joshua and Justin Ross, Janine Connell, Eric Tranquillo, Holly Tranquillo, Branson and Leslie Ross, Dylan and Riley Connell; and Great-Grandson, Dominick Palachuk, and another on the way. Her brothers, Bob and Joann Yost, Richard Yost and Georgieanne Pelkey, Gene and Karen Yost, and sister, Juanita Wagner; special cousins, Larry Base, and Rosie and Bob Greeno; her special friends, Joy and Lucke Eveland, Linda Marn, as well as, numerous loving cousins, and friends.
