Nealson was raised in Putnam County and educated in a one room School house and attended Unionville High School. She went on to marry the love of her life Lee Carter. They have celebrated 73 wonderful years together.
The family farmed for many years in Missouri before relocating to the Yakima Valley in 1958. Nealson worked a little time outside her home at various Yakima businesses which included Baileys Jean Company, Country Store and Newberry’s. She had a talent for sewing wedding dresses, baking wedding cakes, cooking excellent meals and could stretch a dollar to provide for all the family’s needs. Every family member has a quilt, afghan, garment or Christmas ornament made by her with love.
She loved traveling to Missouri to visit family and spending the winters in Arizona. We will miss her sweet spirit and her wisdom with dealing with life’s issues.
She is survived by her loving husband Lee; daughters Kathryn Morris, Joyce (Ron) Schillaci and Lois (James) Johnson; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister Joy Howard; brother-in-law Clark (Arabelle) Carter; sister-in-law June (J. Lee) Klinginsmith and numerous nieces and nephews. Nealson was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carl Hamilton and brother-in-law Carl Howard.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Open Heart Baptist Church (Selah Heights Grange), 2040 McGonagle Rd, Selah, WA 98942.
