

Edith Olema Olson passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on March 15, 2012 at Riverview Manor in Selah where she had resided for the past three years. Edith was born in Egly, Montana on May 28, 1923, the youngest of nine children born to Ward and Edith Knapp. She moved to the Valley from Montana and completed her last two years of high school at Naches, graduating in 1940. Here she met her future husband, Warren "Ole" Olson, and they were married for 58 years before his passing in 2000.
Edith's life's focus was to provide a loving, stable and Christ-centered home for her husband and children. She was a devoted member and Elder in the Community of Christ Church and served in many different leadership capacities throughout her lifetime. While her daughters were growing up, she supported them in their activities including Blue Birds, Skylarks, 4-H, horse riding clubs and church youth groups. In her later years, she was diligent in visiting and volunteering with the Hospice organization.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Warren, her parents and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by three daughters: Rita Rapp of Kissimmee Florida; Cheryl (Larry) Scott of Selah; Vila (Mike) Moreland of Vancouver, WA, and a foster daughter, Eileen Clark of Selah. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Selah Community of Christ Church, 330 McGonagle Road, Selah at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 with burial following at the Wenas Cemetery. Keith and Keith is in charge of arrangements. To share a memory of Edith visit, www.keithandkeithcom.
