Betty retired from the Social Security Administration. After retiring, she started her own online business, Creekside Designs, selling her original works of art in the form of embroidery designs to customers worldwide. Betty was a talented oil painter and cook. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, sewing, and fishing with her husband. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a friend to many and will be missed by all.
She was the first daughter of Rufus and Maxine Summers. She had three children whom she loved very much: Larry Wieland, Deborah (Mike) Evans, and Robert Cochran, both of Selah, WA. She had three grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself: NeCole Wieland, Joseph (Toni) Evans, and Kristen (Jonathan) Seeley; and two great grandchildren: Corbin and Kenadie. She married her soul mate, Robert Patten, in February 1986 and they had many happy years together. She had two wonderful brothers, Robert and Charles, and two wonderful sisters, Sharon and Joyce.
Graveside services will be at the Wenas Cemetery on Friday November 11, 2016 at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
