Evelyn, 86, passed away quietly in her sleep on August 23, 2023 at the Cottage of the Meadow Hospice care in Yakima, WA. She was born June 22, 1937 in La Grande, Oregon to Charles Eugene Wilson and Urania Elizabeth Hunter and was preceded in death by her parents, her older Brother Earl Eugene Wilson and Sister Eleanor Irene (Wilson) Campbell both of La Grande.
Evelyn leaves her brother Edwyn Joseph “Buddy” Wilson of La Grande, her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Wilson) Snell of Dale, OR; Evelyn’s husband Jerry Morgan Horn of Yakima, WA; daughter Annette Elaine (Wagner) Dickson and her husband Charles Randy Dickson of Meacham OR; daughter Jeannine Raennette (Wagner) Hunt of Kenai, AK; son John Robert Wagner and his wife Julia Irene (Boushey) Wagner of Grass Valley, CA; daughter Trisha Anne (Wagner) Hattery; step daughter Cindy Lou (Horn) Gibbs and her husband Darren Michael Gibbs of Albany, OR and step son Michael Tory Horntvedt and his wife Joy Ann (Higman) Horntvedt of Olalla, WA., together with 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Evelyn attended school in La Grande, OR, worked at Pay Less Drugs in La Grande as well as in Anacortes, WA and the years prior to retirement she was a Real Estate Associate Broker in Lake Stevens, WA.
Ev was interested in many things including sewing, quilting, painting and gardening. She also spent numerous weekends exploring northwest backroads with her husband and friends, and in her spare time she studied to become an Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator. Evelyn was quite a gal and we love her with all our hearts. She will be sadly missed.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 1:00PM, Friday, September 8, 2023 at Hillcrest East Cemetery, across the street from 600 South 12th Street, La Grande, Oregon. Afterwards we will meet up at Denny’s Restaurant, 2604 Island Ave, La Grande, for a late lunch, desert, refreshments, etc.
