A lifelong resident of the Yakima Valley she graduated from Yakima High School in 1947 and married John (Jack) Hillman Jr. in 1949 and they remained together until his death in 1995. They had three children together, John Hillman of Yakima, Laurie Massett of Selah and Dan Hillman of Palmyra, Missouri.
She is also survived by her six Grandchildren, Andria Hillman of Austin, Texas, John Lincoln Hillman of Yakima, Devin Massett of Portland, Oregon and Eris, Alexander and Nathan Hillman of Palmyra, Missouri, two nieces, one nephew, and a cousin also survive Frances. She was preceded in death by her sisters Donna Lou, and Teresa as well as her parents, Frank and Nora Danford and husband Jack.
Never in the spotlight, she worked tirelessly to keep the wheels of daily life turning. She dedicated herself to the family apple ranch, performing every task imaginable from managing the picking crew to working in the packinghouse and keeping the books. She accomplished this while chasing three children and keeping books for several local businesses. She was known for her stoicism, and dry sometimes-dark humor, particularly in the face of adversity.
She was formidable when roused, blunt when questioned and undeterred by pretty much anything except perhaps Death, who might have stopped for her, but likely wishes he kept driving.
