Gloria J. McGlothlen, aged 82, was a beloved mom, sister, and Grammy. She was devoted to her family, including son Chris McGlothlen (wife Tina), daughter Jody Gentemann (husband Michor), six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her twin sister, Gail Brendemuhl (husband Leigh). She’s joined her deceased husband, Gary McGlothlen, parents Virgil and Ruth McCurdy, and sister Arlene Potts.
Gloria was a legal secretary and spent over 50 years dedicated to community service in Yakima. She’s a life time member of Kiwanis, a celebrated sister in Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Chi Chapter, and Girl Scout leader. She’s spent over 20 years volunteering with the Oak Creek Feeding Station each winter, feeding and educating the public about the elk population. Plus, you could occasionally find her in the kitchen at Camp Prime Time or in board meetings with the Chelminar Summer Homes Association. In all her pursuits, she served as a board member, plus often volunteered at golf tournaments, kids outreach in schools, or parades. She was the person who kept the records organized, the events running smoothly, and goofy fun antics.
She loved spending time with her family in Spokane and Edmonds, often arranging several trips and coordinating her community obligations between travel adventures. She loved spending time at a cabin on White Pass, her home away from home.
Gloria will be missed for her goofy nature, her selfless and tireless work ethic, her strong independence, her adventurous spirit, and her chocolate frosted brownies, typically packed into a suitcase to take along. Gloria’s love and light will be missed in all the little moments.
Help us celebrate Gloria’s life on Saturday September 6, 2025 at 2:00 at the Englewood Christian Church 511 N 44th Ave. Yakima. To leave a memory for the family please visit keithandkeith.com
