

Henry V. Apodaca, 88, a longtime Moxee resident of 65 years, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 peacefully at his home with family by his bedside.
Henry was born September 20, 1925 at El Paso, Texas to Juan and Benjamin Apodaca. Henry had been adventurous since the age of 13 seeking out different jobs leading him to Colorado where he met his wife Lois Murillo and they together came to Washington.
He worked for Libbey Cannery, Northern Pacific Railroad for 20 years, then retiring from Boise Cascade. Henry’s pastime was horse racing, wine making, gardening and his last accomplishment and families was planting rows of delicious thornless Blackberrys. In past years late 60’s & 70’s had acres of strawberries where there was a write up in the Yakima Herald of his acres of strawberries.
Henry was kind hearted man who loved his family dearly. Would help family, friends, and neighbors if he could, Dad touched each and every ones heart and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include daughter, Harriet Tanner of Yakima (children, Gabriel and Regina), Juanita Apodaca of Moxee, (Lawrence, David, Danielle), Mona Apodaca-Day of Moxee (Seth and Toni); two sons, Rudy Apodaca of Moxee (Chrissy) and Henry Apodaca Jr. of Tucson AZ (wife Carmen) daughter Itzel; 20 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife Lois Apodaca, son Lawrence, his parents Juan and Benjamina Apodaca, brothers Lawrence, Juan, Arturo, Tito: sisters Elvita, Esther and MaryAnn and daughter in law Kathy Apodaca Yeager.
