James K. “Jim” Evans, 76, went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2014. Jim was born in Columbus, Kansas to Jess and Geraldine (Taylor) Evans on October 4, 1938 and in 1943 the family moved to the Yakima Valley. Jim followed in his father’s footsteps taking his work personally, having a love and passion for turning visions into reality and having great pride in the work when it was completed. Over the years Jim and the crew completed many projects including subdivisions, roads, and commercial sites throughout the Northwest.
Jim loved NASCAR racing from being a driver competing at the Yakima Speedway to traveling nationwide with his friend Dennis to see all of his favorite drivers at the large speedways and in the later years he followed them faithfully on television. Jim also loved spending time with family, friends, traveling to Mexico and spending time at their home in Hawaii
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years Donna, sister Evelyn Sheeley, sons Jamie Evans (Maurine), Jerry Evans (Christina), daughter Jena Evans (Mike) grandsons Brad Evans, Brett Evans (Bailey) and Matthew Evans. Special friends include Dennis, Juan, Tessy and Mike.
