Our beloved Cookie Grandma, Jane Marie Adams passed away on February 5th 2026 to be with her husband Elden and her savior Jesus. Mom was born in 1930 in Franklin, Nebraska to Roy Claire Flathers and Ruby Catherine Whitmore. At her death at 95, she lived at Fieldstone Memory Care of Yakima.
At the young age of six, June (she preferred June) her father and mother sold their Nebraska farm during the depression and dust bowl to seek their fortune in the lush plateau of Tieton. They arrived 10 days later with everything they owned in 3 vehicles including her brother and two Aunts.
Mom worked at various jobs over the years, George’s shoe store, the Tieton Theater, packing apples at the Hort Union of Tieton and Roche Fruit, and babysitting. Her passion was service, service to her family and community. She belonged to Rebeccas, the Tieton Grange, Tieton Lioness, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Tieton Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon, and the Flag Day Committee where they honored veterans.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Sandi) Adams and Donald (Linda) Adams. Passing before her were her mother and father Roy Claire and Ruby Flathers, her brother Leroy (Laverne) Flathers, her husband Elden, her daughter Connie Smith and numerous other relatives.
We would like to thank the Fieldstone Assisted Living and Memory Care group for their many years of wonderful care of our mom, and Memorial Hospice care for their end-of-life comfort they gave her.
