Joan Kathleen Miles

Joan was born in Spokane, Washington on May 30, 1940 to Leslie and Evelyn Holstine. Joan grew up in Deary, Idaho where she went to school and graduated from Deary High School. She then moved to Spokane where she attended nursing training. Shortly thereafter she met Gene Miles and married on November 1959. They then started their family with Sally, Rod and Leslie.

Joan loved flowers, gardening and antique shopping. She also did volunteer work at her church. Her favorite hobby was sewing. She and a group of friends formed a group and called it the Cotton Club. They met regularly and this was a special time for Joan.

Joan is survived by her husband Gene Miles, her sister Katharine Holstine Melanson, children Sally and Allen Gunderson, Rod and Amanda Miles, Leslie Miles & Craig Sorenson. Grandchildren Shane and Dancy Gunderson, Miles McCracken, Kyle McCracken, Alissa and Trevor Leist, Kasey and Jase Lewis, Kayla Whalen and Chad Shaver. Along with 11 great grand children.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Wiley Union Church in Yakima, WA.
