

SELAH- Josephine (Josie) Marie Dehnhoff age 78 of Selah, WA passed Wednesday February 9, 2011 at home.
She was born October 7, 1932 in East Selah, WA at the family home to Floyd Eldon and Isabell Mae (McInroy) Arzt. She was the fifth child of five. Graduated from Selah High in 1951. Married Arthur W. Dehnhoff on October 9, 1955. Together they raised five children in Yakima.
Josephine loved drawing and received an art scholarship upon graduation. Though she never pursued the scholarship she found times while raising her family to continue her interest in drawing. Bowling, spending time with family and friends and cooking for family gatherings were her greatest joys. In addition Josephine enjoyed music, dancing, family camping trips to the beach and the mountains, and she had a passionate love for life and her grandchildren, family and friends.
Josephine worked early on at Larson's Bakery and at J.J. Newberry's on Yakima Ave, seasonal at Del Monte's and later retired from many years at the Post Exchange at the Yakima Firing Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Ruby Ellen Long, Ralph LaVern Arzt (childhood), Juanita Louise Berry and Bonnie Jean Arzt (infancy) and her son, Rodney Dehnhoff.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur and four of their children: Patricia Baldt (Yakima, WA), Mitchell Dehnhoff (Mary) (Yakima, WA), Laurie Carver (Bruce) (Sequim, WA), Walter Dehnhoff (Yakima, WA), daughter-in-law Jeanie Dehnhoff (Yakima, WA) and stepdaughter Debbie Gonser (Darrell) (Spokane, WA). Eleven Grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorial/reception (luncheon) will be held from 1-4, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the LeChateau (The old YWCA) 15 North Naches Avenue, Yakima, WA.
