Joyce Eileen Gaidies was born October 2, 1937 in Creston, Iowa. She moved to Puyallup, Washington at a young age. She graduated from Puyallup High School and went on to get a degree in Evangelism at Northwest Bible College. Joyce spent most of her life in Yakima, Washington where she built both a career and her ministry.
Joyce worked faithfully for a law firm for 32 years as a paralegal where she was known for her dedication, integrity and strong work ethic. Her steady presence and professionalism earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Above all, Joyce was a woman of abiding faith who dedicated her life to the Lord. She wanted that all would know Him and His love. For many years she evangelized, sharing the message of God's love wherever she went. She continued her ministry by visiting assisted living homes and nursing homes with her dear friend Bethal Pittman. Together, they brought the word of God and special music to those unable to attend church, offering comfort, hope, and encouragement. She was truly an amazing witness whose faith touched countless lives.
In recent years, Joyce struggled with dementia and resided in assisted living at Chandler House where she was cared for with compassion. Even as her memory faded, the love she shared and the faith she lived by remained evident to those around her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Lucille Gaidies, her sisters, Shirley Johnston and Thelma Patient and nephew Marc Patient.
She is survived by her nieces Pamela Trei, Gail Woodson, Shelby Patient, Lynn Henderson and Leigh Benway and her nephew Anthony Patient.
