What I remember about my brother Kalvin is the fishing trips  we all took together @ Jamison Lake come opening day. You and Dad, tent, boat and Bob and I tent and boat.  It was like a mini city in this hilly area on the day before Opening Day.  We searched for the right spot to camp and put two 
boats in the water. It was a big deal!  And I did not have to worry about
falling in the water! Both boats were side by side cause it was so crowded
and we had a plan.  And side by side we fished and did not move until Bob
and I had limits and Dad and Kal had their limits.  We were cold and because
there were so many us fisherman you could not drown because with so many boats you could walk from boat to boat to get back on shore.  I was never afraid of drowning on Opening Day at Jamison Lake. Love you, Alice

You were such a thoughtful uncle to our older sisters' children during Easter.  You acted as the "Easter Bunny" and hid the eggs, then held the hand of young ones as they searched for their treats.  You always enjoyed the holidays and spending time with our whole family.  When Kaylynn and I moved to California, you continued living with Dad, who was recently widowed, and acted as a support system for him.  I felt comforted that you were there with him.  You were often misunderstood, but I knew your heart. You were a good man and I will miss you.

MEMORIES OF KAL,FROM BIG SISTER GLORIA,

I REMEMBER THE DAY HE WAS BORN.  THE THREE OLDER SISTERS WERE AT HOME, WAITING FOR THE JOYOUS NEWS.  IT WAS A WARM SUMMER DAY, AND DAD AND UNCLE BOB DROVE INTO THE CARPORT, AND BOTH MEN GOT OUT OF THE CAR WITH SUCH BIG SMILES ON THEIR FACES.  THEY TOLD US IT WAS A BOY,  AND THERE WAS A LOT OF GIRLISH LAUGHING AND SQUEALING GOING ON.  IT WAS A WONDERFUL DAY FOR ALL OF US.

I REMEMBER THE LAST YEAR WE WENT TO WISCONSIN WHEN I WAS STILL LIVING AT HOME.  MOM AND DAD AND KAL AND KAY AND I
WENT TOGETHER.  WE VISITED THE RELATIVES
IN MINNESOTA FOR A FEW DAYS, AND WE STAYED AT THE CONVENT IN WISCONSIN WITH SR. AQUIN FOR THREE OR FOUR DAYS.  WE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME ROAMING AROUND THAT PLACE WITH SR. AQUIN. THE NUNS TOOK US ALL OVER THE AREA IN ONE OF THEIR CARS, AND I HAD MY OWN ROOM AT THE CONVENT.  AFTER SHARING A ROOM WITH TWO OLDER SISTERS FOR 17 YEARS, THAT WAS REALLY A TREAT. 

I WILL MISS KAL, AND THINK OF HIM OFTEN.

Hey Big Brother,
Love you, miss you. Christmas has come and gone this year. 2015 is almost over. I've been thinking about you tons. Remembering Sunday drives and picnics. Picking huckleberries in the mountains. Eating more than picking in my case. The long road trips to Wisconsin. Drawing imaginary lines in the car seat, to make sure that we stayed in our own space. Snowball fights, and sledding at Milroy Park.
You will be missed.

Whenever we lose someone we love, we begin to reflect on the times we had together and sometimes focus on the relationship we had with them.  I did not have the opportunity to meet Kalvin, but I know two of his sisters and I know that they were the best family he could have ever hoped for.  Kindness, generosity and sacrifice are evidenced in all that they do.  On behalf of the Fullwood family, I offer condolences, prayer, and love to the Kastel family at this difficult time.  Kalvin was loved by you unconditionally and I want you to know that you are loved as well.

The time he came to the house on 27th and made a snowman with me and Luke. It was really big - Luke and I could never have made it by ourselves.

For this next memory we were listening to the radio, maybe in a car. The song Werewolves of London came on and we howled along to it.
