Laticia "Tish" Ann Poulson

Laticia Ann Lawson Poulson, age 83 of Yakima, Wa. passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14th, after complications from lung cancer at Fieldstone Memory Care. Her parents were Clifford and Peggy Lawson also of Yakima. She graduated from A.C. Davis high school and a couple of years later married Vernon Poulson. They were married for just one month shy of 60 years before he passed in 2021.

“Tish”, as she was known, was a devoted mother to her only son, Rich Poulson. During Rich’s baseball years, she never missed a game. Once Rich married his wife Lisa, she became an ardent sports supporter of her grandsons, Peyton and Carson Poulson. The grandkids always loved going out to their house where she taught them how to swim, would make them her famous flapjacks and where they rode their bikes or 4 wheelers for hours at a time. She was a second Mother to Greg, Ryan and Matthew Blinsky, treating them as her own.

In her professional life, in her younger years she was a waitress. After she was married, Vern and Tish partnered with her Dad, forming L P Body Shop. She loved doing the books and worked into her 70’s as the bookkeeper. Still in business today, now owned by her son Rich. For many years, L P Body Shop sponsored and traveled with the Don Dowdy race team. They became lifelong friends to Don and his wife Jeannie, who were there for her until the end.

Upon retirement, she and Vern fell in love with Yuma, Arizona and continued going there every winter even up until their last couple years of life. There, they found many friends who they loved and enjoyed seeing every year.

Tish was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; parents Cliff and Peggy Lawson; her brother Cliff (Butch) Lawson Jr. step daughter Debra Poulson.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Rich and Lisa Poulson; grandsons Peyton (Kindsey) and Carson Poulson; sister Pam and brother in law Floyd Blinsky and their sons, Greg (Sara), Ryan (Christie) and Matthew(Jena) Blinsky, Step son Gary Poulson; Niece Penny Garvin and nephews Mark and Jeff Lawson.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Rainier Memorial Center, 2807 Terrace Heights Dr, Yakima, WA 98901, next to Terrace Heights Memorial Park with Keith and Keith Funeral home assisting the family.
