She was born June 11th, 1936 in Howard County, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and ten brothers and sisters; they all were able to greet her home.
Leatha was a veteran of the United States Air Force. She was also a survivor of many things in her life, one of them being breast cancer, and loss of vision. She had worked in the office for the Yakima Greenway and also at the local Walmart in the garden department. She will be remembered for her loving caring nature to her family and friends, as well as her sense of humor and sarcasm, and traveling with her grand and great grandkids. We will always remember her by seeing roses and hummingbirds. She loved sports, mostly watching football and baseball; she was a huge fan of the Seahawks and Mariners.
Surviving behind her are her children Janet (Steve) Schelper, Janice Haskell, Walter Burns, and Jena (Don) Henak; grandchildren RJ Haskell, Jessica (Ryan) Wick, Kenny (Teena) Schelper, Lacey (Kevin) Earle, and Mason Burns. Her great grandchildren, Jordan Schwabe, Christian Wick, Kaedyn Schelper, Kairee Schelper, and Madilynn Schelper, were all her pride and joy.
We will have a celebration of her life at the Yakima Arboretum on June 2nd, 2019, 10 AM to 1 PM.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Yakima Arboretum.
