Linda Lee Ross passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 at Memorial Hospital from complications of a brain tumor. She was born in Chewelah, WA on May 24, 1949 to Robert and Trudy Blomgren where she was raised and graduated from Mead High School in 1967. At a young age Linda made her choice to follow and love Jesus and was a part of a worldwide Christian fellowship. She was taking college classes like calligraphy, watercolor, drawing and advertising to become a commercial artist. By her second year the pressure of being a top artist together with the responsibilities of living on her own became too much so she left college to regroup. The Lord had other plans for Linda as she would marry Donald Martin Ross on November 15, 1968 and leave for the Bellingham area the day after they were married. Linda had a life on the move as they lived in five different places in the Bellingham area from 1968 to 1995, then Garwood, ID from 1995 to 2001, then back to the Bellingham area, from 2001 to 2003 when they moved to live on Lake Anderson by Chimacum, WA. Linda made a house a home wherever they lived raising their family of four boys. After Don's retirement they moved to Yakima, WA in 2016.
She enjoyed gardening, art, games, reading books especially her bible, fellowship, camping, homemaking, photos of old barns, Sunday afternoon drives, sunsets, flower photos, flower arrangements, and bird watching taking pictures of the ducks and swans. Linda always wanted Don to stop in the middle of road as it was the best angle to capture the beauty of the photo. Linda loved writing letters, she made her own envelopes from calendar pictures she had saved over the years. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving as the family was always together from her dad Bob Blomgren's house on Friday Harbor, to her sister Carlene Gest's house in the Spokane area, to the assisted living where Bob Blomgren lived, to Linda's own home in Yakima. A family picture was always attempted even though it seemed someone was always not looking at the camera.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Donald Martin Ross of Yakima, WA; Sons - Bryan and Melisa Ross of Yakima, WA; Jaben and Melissa Ross of Reardon, WA; Trevin Ross of Yakima, WA; Jonathan and Miki Ross of Elk, WA. Eight grandchildren - Larissa, Blake, Cole, Walker, Allie, Emma, Payton, and Emory. One great granddaughter - Harlen. One great grandson due in June. One sister - Carlene and Bill Gest of Colbert, WA. Two step-brothers, a step-sister, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home Chapel. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.keithandkeith.com.
