Lynette Sue Pitt, 54, YAKIMA - Lynette Sue Pitt was 54 years old when she passed away the evening of May 3, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 9, 1958 in Toppenish, WA and grew up in the Whitstran and Prosser areas before settling in Yakima, WA.
She attended Trend College, where she received a degree as an administrative assistant and was employed as a secretary before working in property management. She was just as devoted to helping others find their homes as she was to her family. She enjoyed being around those she loved most.
Lynette also had many talents, including cooking and gardening. She had a special knack for putting together unique dishes with what she had on hand as well as teaching family recipes to her daughters. In gardening, she had an eye for arrangement and colors, a talent she learned from her father. This time of year she always had an abundance of flowers just waiting to be planted. She also enjoyed camping with her family and being outdoors.
Lynette is survived by her loving, devoted partner, Robert Cardenas of Granger; brothers Mike Kukes of Grandview and Larry Kukes of Prosser; sister Luanne Durfey of Prosser; daughters Megan Marshall and Taryn Pitt-Cardenas; her granddaughter Natalie Marshall and grandson due in June. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Norma Kukes, as well as her grandparents and various aunts and uncles.
A memorial and celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2012 at 6 pm, Westpark United Methodist Church, 3902 Summitview Avenue in Yakima. She will be greatly missed but forever loved.
