

Maria Narcisa Lorenza, lovingly known to all as Mama Lencha, was born in Santa Lucia, Guanajuato, Mexico. She was raised in San Martin de Zula, Jalisco, where she spent her early years surrounded by family and community. She later made her home in the United States, living many years in California and Washington State. She passed away in Yakima, Washington, surrounded by the love of her family.
Mama Lencha was a devoted homemaker and catholic throughout her life. Her greatest joy was caring for her family. She had a deep love for gardening, nurturing her plants with the same tenderness she gave to her children and grandchildren. She cherished family gatherings, where her warmth, strength, and unwavering love brought everyone together. Over the years, she traveled and lived with many of her sons and daughters, always keeping close to those she loved most.
She was the proud mother of 22 children and is survived by nine of her children: Rodolfo, Ramona, Audelia, Miguel, Alfonso, Arnulfo, Maria Elena, Manuel, and Javier. Her legacy continues through her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each carrying forward her strength and love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramon; her daughter, Maria De Jesus; and 12 of her children.
Mama Lencha’s life was one of devotion, sacrifice, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
