Marilyn J. Kelly Was given to her parents, George and Nellie Gipson on January 29, 1942. She went to see her mansion in Heaven on November15, 2022 at 6:50 AM.
The lord gave her generosity through her father and wisdom and kindness through her mother. She had a large family growing up and loved them all. She was fun, smart and merciful. She would give you her last dollar or anything you needed. Family vacations with her husband Wayne and her children were always fun and refreshing camping trips. Her creative side could be seen in her loom baby blankets. She made many for her family and friends. She was talented in upholstery works and remodeling houses. She enjoyed making Christmas treats with her kids when they were small. Marilyn liked hummingbirds, the color cobalt blue and word finds. She made many friends in her CB radio days (mom and dad’s handles were “damsel” and “black knight”). In business she was organized, fair and an example of leadership. She was always willing to do what she asked of her employees. She started her managerial career as a 13 year old, stepping in for her parent’s friends in the restaurant industry. Being a people person and having the gift of gab helped her along. She finished her careers as a caregiver, bringing respect and cheer to the weak and to the elderly.
So few words to describe the care and kindness she held for people and life. She had an experience with God. She not only attended the First United Pentecostal Church of Yakima, but supported it for 23 years. She was a pillar in the church, she would give rides, go out to help those who called whether it be late or far. Her work there included anointed prayer at the altar, fundraising, decorating for Christmas and fellowship meetings. Her special work was Sunday school teacher. Her students could see her love for them. She would go all out for her kids. If the theme was jungle she brought in trees, tents an animals. Western theme would get you trees, teepees and fun. One of Marilyn’s favorite things for her students was a prayer tree. They put their prayer requests on it and they would get answers, even snow one year. She graciously touched many lives.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her youngest son Gabriel Morgan a sister, and 6 brothers. She is survived by her children Sherry Karle (Mike), Anthony Kelly, Wayne Kelly JR, Clyde Kelly (Berna), Aronda Kelly and Dawn Hepp (Darryl) a brother Ray Gipson a sister Phyllis strain She was the mother of seven. Many nieces, nephews and grandchildren also survive her. PS 116:5 Precious in the sight of the lord is the death of his saints.
