Born on January 30, 1953, Martha was born to Elias Viera and Basilisa Guzman
in Tecuala, Nayarit, Mexico. Martha was the third of twelve surviving children.
Martha moved to California in her late teens to find work. She found and worked
several different types of jobs including computer fabrication and textile work.
With her earnings, Martha would save for her basic needs and send money back
to her family to assist with ongoing education costs for her siblings.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Federico J. Peña. Martha and
Federico met while attending a church service in California. They were wed on
November 20, 1982. She is survived by her three daughters, Abigail (Angel)
Cruz, Aimee Pena, and Dolly (Jose) Pena; and her grandchildren, Elias, Elliana,
Everly, Angel, and Juliana.
Martha enjoyed gardening, home remodeling, sewing, spending time with her
children and grandchildren, and attending all her grandchildren’s activities-they
made her so proud.
Martha was a wonderful, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and
mother-in-law. She cared and loved deeply for her family, friends, and offered a
great level of hospitality to those who she came in contact with.
Martha was a devout Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart and lived out
His word to the very end. Martha along with her husband Federico, listened and
felt nudged by the Lord to reach those that needed to hear the word of God.
Together they gave back to the church, assisted the local community, and
traveled to places with need; helping raise churches in Veracruz and Durango,
Mexico.
Martha lived a full life.
She will be missed deeply by those who loved her. However this is not goodbye
but until we meet again.
A viewing and service will take place at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home on
December 11, 2025 from 4-8p. A funeral viewing will take place at El Paraiso on
December 12, 2025 at 12p followed by a gravesite burial at Terrace Heights
Memorial Park at 1:30p with a reception to follow.
