
She was born to Emil and Louise (Paradise) Lauzon in Flaxville, MT. on October 17, 1914. Mary came to Yakima at the age of 9 and attended St. Joseph’s Academy. After her fathers’ sudden death, she quit school and started working to help support the family. Mary worked in shoe sales, as a cashier in a hotel, and also worked in canneries until retiring in 1951 from Dr. John Harrington’s office where she worked as a receptionist. She married Ralph A. Haight at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on October 15, 1932. She had been a member of the Providence Guild for over twenty five years and a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. Her abiding catholic faith was central in her life. She enjoyed her crafts staying busy with knitting, crocheting and needlepoint work.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Frank) Fitterer of Yakima, WA and Charlotte (Clyde) McCaw of Post Falls, ID; sister, Alice Hill of Yakima, WA; brother Edward Lauzon of Long Beach, WA; half brother, Robert Poirier of Longview, WA. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 9 great –great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph A. Haight; four children, sons Edward Haight, Donald A, Haight , Dr. Raymond Haight, and daughter Nancy Hibdon; sisters Georgiana Hill and Terri Graversen; and brother Larry Lauzon.
Visitation and viewing will be held at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Cathedral Chapel on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Concluding services and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
