Mary K. Smith

Mary K Smith, 94 of Goodyear, AZ (formerly of Yakima, WA), wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend of many made her way home Sunday, October 25, 2015. She was dedicated to her family and friends, always thinking and doing for others. In her later years she loved to go fishing with friends and grandkids. Many happy hours were spent out in the boat reelin’ them in. Then came the cleaning, cooking and eating, the catch of the day was enjoyed by all that were gathered. Her love, her smile, her “orneriness” will be missed but the precious memories created by her life will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary K Jones was born May 9, 1921 to parents Levy and Jessie Jones in Greenfield, Mo. In 1937 the Jones moved out to Selah, Washington and there Mary K met the love of her life Vernon Smith. They married November 14, 1937 and had 4 children, Bob Smith (Dee), Darell Smith (Linda), Donna Warmuth (Gary-deceased) and Jim Smith. From these unions 6 grandchildren came on the scene, Janna Christine (Dan), Jennifer Cole(Alan), Sharlyn Kay (Chris), Anjelette Fay (William), Jerald Lee (Angela) and Michael Vernon. But that was not the end, from these unions 5 great- grandchildren, Justina Grace, Preston Alexander, Brandon Llelwyn , Justin Darell (JD) and Madison Cole entered the family tree. Mary K was blessed beyond belief and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home will handle the service in the chapel at Terrace Heights Cemetery, Monday, Nov. 9th 2015 at 2pm. A remembrance reception will be held at the center in the chapel following the interment. All who knew Mary K are welcome to come and share.

A family reunion memorial will be held in the spring.
