It is with great sadness that we share the news on the passing of our Mother, Grandma, Sister and dear friend, Maryellen Reinhart on January 7, She was in New Zealand traveling on one of her greatest adventures with her sister. We are comforted that she is back in the loving arms of our Dad and finally reunited after his passing in 2016. She leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, friendships and the role she loved more than anything else, being a Grandma.
Maryellen was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was the love of travel that inspired her to become a flight attendant. She had a wonderful 28-year career with Delta Airlines.
She married the love of her life Edward Reinhart in 1982. The ceremony took place at the Cape Cod home of longtime friends Andy and Mary Anne Murray. Their life was a great partnership and taught us so many great life lessons but most importantly love and laughter. They traveled the world together and their home was always the center of our universe.
When our Dad passed, she entered a new chapter of her life when her sister Paula moved to Yakima from the east coast. Maryellen’s love of travel was reignited and together they explored far away cities in Europe and Africa. It was a constant topic of conversation and they had so many places yet to visit.
Maryellen was a firm believer in giving back to the community. Throughout her years, she was an active volunteer for Pegasus Project, American Red Cross, Backstage at Capital Theatre and her lifetime commitment to Special Olympics.
Maryellen is survived by her sister Paula Polaski, of Yakima, WA, brothers Mark Polaski, Worcester, MA, Joseph Michael Polaski (Janet) of Auburn, MA. Her children, Lisa Kapuza (John), Lori Thompson (Damon), Ed Reinhart (Deb) of Yakima, Wa and her grandchildren Jon, Meshach, Michael, Ryan, Katie, Jacob, Grace, and Ashley. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Polaski of Auburn, MA
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in her name to Pegasus Project or Camp Hope.
A vigil service will be held on Friday February 2 from 5 to 7:30 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. On Saturday February 3 Please join family and friends to celebrate Maryellen’s life at 9:00 AM at St. Paul Cathedral. A graveside service will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer on the east coast for friends and family unable to attend services in Yakima, WA. To leave a memory for the family please visit keithandkeith.com.
