Matthew Lee Walter, died peacefully in his sleep on December 21, 2021. He fought Kidney cancer for the last year and a half. He was the son of Howard S. Walter (deceased) and Alice Walter (surviving). He is survived by his wife of 23.98 years, after being together since the 10th grade. His is survived by his brothers Howard Jr., Joseph, and Kevin, sister Jennifer, nephews Alex, Michael, Keonie, Matthew, and nieces Samantha, Stacy, Marina, Veronica, Harley, Kaylee, Raven, Sakura, Lucy and Layla. Matthew tried to be the best husband, brother, uncle and friend that he could.
He attended and graduated from Perry Technical and Yakima Valley Community College for Telecommunication.
He was a member of the Scottish rite, York rite and Shriners. Holding positions as Past Master of Naches, Goldendale, Yakima. Past District Deputy of District 20, Past Commander of the Commandery, Past High Priest, Past Illustrious Mast of the Council, Knight Commander Court of Honor, Past Venerable Master for the Scottish Rite, Assistant Rabban of Masada Shriners, and Past Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation Director for Yakima.
His funeral will be held a Keith and Keith on January 4th at 1:00 to be followed by a small buffet at the Mason Hall on 7th Ave and Yakima Ave.
