

He attended Union Gap School and Eisenhower High School where he lettered in Football and Wrestling. He was currently working at Costco of Union Gap, WA, as a stocker. Previous to that he had worked at Pacific Steel.
Michael was a very friendly and active young man. He was an avid participant in numerous activities. He participated in the annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament and loved to relax with his family and friends by fishing, boating, and playing darts. Michael lived a very short but influential life. He touched the lives of everyone he met in a very positive way.
Michael is survived by his parents, Shawn and Becky Kochie; brothers, Steven (Stephanie) Sterling of Tennessee; Joshua Kochie of Tennessee and Dustin Sterling of Idaho; sisters, Leanna Kochie and Justine Kochie both of Union Gap. He is also survived by Grandparents; Jan Lunceford of Yakima; Ken (Marilyn) Lunceford of Yakima; Betty St George of Union Gap; and Helen Sterling of Selah; along with a niece, Taylor and a nephew Jayden both of Union Gap; uncles, Owen Lunceford of Spokane WA and David Lunceford; aunts, Connie Lunceford of Yakima; Beverly Sterling and Robin Sterling both of Selah and Michelle Kochie of Yakima, numerous Cousins and a special little girl, Jade Potts.
He was preceded in death by Steven Sterling, Grandma and Grandpa Hoffman, Larry Sterling, Regina Sterling and Darren Sterling.
He will be greatly missed by all. "Until we meet again Michael, you will always be in our hearts and thoughts, we will never forget you! We love you with all our hearts and soul", Dad, Mom, Leanna, Steven, Justine & Joshua.
A Vigil will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 10th at St Paul Cathedral.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
