Nenita Ygona de Ocampo, age 60, peacefully joined her maker on April 13, 2016 with her family and close friends by her side. Throughout her life, she thoughtfully nurtured everyone by consciously making time for family gatherings accented by her delicious cooking – especially her chiffon cake!
With numerous travel adventures, she grew up in Alegria Cebu, Philippines, completed her Bachelors of Science in Food and Nutrition at Southwestern University, and subsequently moved to the United States at age 27 years. She diligently worked at Yakima Regional Medical Center for over 30 years by being of service to patients and staff as a catering patient advocate.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando Dy and Concepcion Ygona, and her eldest brother, Bonifacio, and in-laws, Marciana and Earl. She is survived by her devoted husband, Tony de Ocampo, supportive siblings and in-laws, Luz, Ronaldo and Marianas, Jess and Marian, Virginia and Manuel, Oscar and Lilia, Emma and Ken, Loreta and Hans, and loving nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank Yakima Regional Medical, especially the Critical Care Unit and Intensive Care Unit medical and nursing staff.
Rosary and viewing at 7 p.m. on April 15, 2016 and funeral mass at 10 a.m. on April 16, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at Selah, Washington. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
