She passed away surrounded by her family on January 3, 2014 at Cottage in the Meadow.
At age 14 Olive moved with her family to Washington. They settled in the Wiley City area. When she was 15 her older brother, Don introduced her to his best friend, Edwin “Ed” Beck. It was love at first sight. They married November 3, 1945. Their love lasted for 56 years of marriage and for eternity after Ed’s passing on May 1, 2002.
Ed and Ollie worked together at Del Monte for 33 years and did just about everything together. On December 11, 1952 Ollie gave birth to their only child, Sharon Anne.
Ollie could do just about anything from repairing shingles on the roof to making the best apple pie in the world. She was a good and faithful servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ her entire life. Her family adored her and will miss her greatly.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, brother Donald and sisters Syble and Vivian.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Joe) Scott of Wapato; grandchildren Christi (Chris) Johnson of Sedro Wooley, Angela Cox and Corey Reeves of Yakima; five great grandchildren, Zack Goeken, Savanah Johnson, Logan Johnson, Erica Cox, and Natalie Cox; her brothers, Roy (JoAnn) Warren of Yakima, Ross (Charlotte) Warren of Denair, CA and sister, Lois Neil of Arizona.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Rainier Memorial Center (next to Terrace Heights Memorial Park). Burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Olive’s name to Cottage in the Meadow.
