Patricia Lynn Polo

Patricia "Patty" Polo passed away peacefully in her home after a short battle with cancer on February 12, 2025 at the age of 66, surrounded by her family. Patty was born March 19, 1958 in Yakima, Washington to Charles and Dolly Callahan. She attended AC Davis High School, graduating in 1976.

Patty's love of serving others led her to study nursing at YVCC, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1981. Patty worked her entire 42-year nursing career at Yakima Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2023. She also worked part-time at Crescent Nursing Home and Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Patty's care for the elderly brought her much joy and she formed close bonds with all of her patients. She truly enjoyed her co-workers and made many lifelong friendships with them.

Patty enjoyed many hobbies in life. She always had a beautiful garden, but nothing made her happier than spending time with her beloved family. Being with her children, Lindsey and Cody, late-night rides with her husband Mike in his big red truck, and spoiling her grandchildren was how she preferred to spend her time. Patty would light up any room she entered, and was hard to miss, often dressed in her favorite leopard-print attire and heels. Although she was late to the party at times, she was always the life of the party. She loved getting "dolled up" and spending evenings at the theater, but she also was just as happy to be in her pajamas at home watching her favorite Bravo shows. Her smile and laughter was magnetic, and she would go out of her way to make everyone happy and feel welcome. Her hospitality and charity towards others was legendary. She touched the hearts and bettered the lives of all she came across. Patty had an "open door policy" and would open her home to anyone in need, and she would never turn an animal away, rescuing many cats and dogs over the years. Patty never said no to too many pets!

Patty is survived by her loving husband, Mike Polo, her daughter Lindsey Lenox, her mother Dolly Callahan, brother John Callahan and wife Joann, sister Kathryn Anderson and husband Dale, numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and her beloved dogs and cats, both tame and feral. Patty was preceded in death by her son Cody Lenox and father Charles Callahan.

Patty will be honored in a "Celebration of Life" service at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Leopard-print clothing (Patty's favorite) is encouraged but not required. Please send flowers to Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
