Patrick Joseph Brennan, 86 of Yakima, passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. Pat was born on Friday, November 13, 1936 in San Jose CA to Milton P Brennan and Grace H Murphy. Pat was the youngest of 5 boys born during the great depression. He attended St Joseph Marquette Catholic School in Yakima and after finishing high school in Arizona, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served from 1954-1963. During his timeserving, he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Pat was a member of Holy Family Parish. He was employed for many years as a Maintenance and Security Assistant at Providence Hospital in Yakima, where he retired.
In December 1996, Pat was chosen Providence Yakima Medical Center Employee of the Month. Pat was a dedicated employee that supported the mission of Providence Hospital in many ways. With minimal staffing, Pat was called on to handle the logistical processes for the maintenance, security and grounds around the facility. He was a responsible employee that could be counted on to be at work anytime of the day or conditions. His fellow employees thought very highly of Pat, as an integral part of Providence Hospital.
Pat loved animals, fishing, watching sports and going to the casino, but above all Pat loved the Church. It was very difficult for him during COVID, when he was unable to attend regularly, and then later he was just too weak to attend and felt very lost.
Pat is survived by a stepdaughter, Spring Wathen of Redmond Oregon, a stepson Leonard Baldt of Yakima, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Delores L. Brennan, his Father, Milton Brennan, his Mother, Grace Brennan, and 4 Brothers; William Brennan, Robert Brennan, Dennis Brennan and David Brennan.
We are all saddened by Pat's death, but take comfort in knowing he is in the arms of our precious savior.
Visitation will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home Thursday, January 12, 2023 4:00-8:00pm with a Mass Service at Holy Family on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 am.
