Paul was born to Donald Dale & Carol Beth (Gossard) Cobleigh on April 25th, 1961, in Medford, Oregon. He completed the family with his older brother, David Dale Cobleigh, who was born in 1958.
The family moved to Yakima, Washington in 1969 when his father was transferred to Pacific Power & Light Company. They made their permanent residency in Selah, Washington where Paul attended all of the schools and graduated in 1979.
When Paul was 14 years old, his classmate and good friend, Jim, took him out to Suntides Golf Course to hit his first bucket of balls. That is where his golf journey began.
Paul attended the University of Washington, Columbia Basin College, Oregon State University and graduated in 1984 from Central Washington University with a Degree in Accounting. He played collegiate golf and excelled well with his “natural” swing and abilities to master competitions.
In 1985, Paul married Celia (Johnson) and they were married for 40 years. 1993, their daughter, Hannah was born. Every Monday they would take a group of golfers with them to tournaments all around the region. They all enjoyed each other’s company and look forward to choosing a restaurant for good “eats.”
Paul was the Head Golf Professional & General Manager for Suntides Golf Course for over 42 years. He was always available to fix any problem that arose; especially the irrigation & broken pipes that occurred late at night.
Throughout the years, he mentored so many people. His friends are a wonderful testimony to this.
A Special Thank You to Derek for the care and dedication you gave to Paul. We are appreciative to Jim for all you have done for Paul since the age of 14.
Paul was preceded in passing by his parents, Dale & Carol Cobleigh, and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Paul is survived by his wife Celia, daughter Hannah, brother David Cobleigh & wife Kris, their children: son Ryan Cobleigh, daughter Rachel & husband Richard, and his sister-in-law Laura L Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Suntides Golf Course, 231 Pence Rd, Yakima, Washington beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul's honor to the American Cancer Society @ www.cancer.org/dignitymemorial or to the American Red Cross @ www.redcross.org/donate/donation, or brought to Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W Yakima Ave.
