

Bob was born to Edgar and Elva Reidt in White Bluffs, Washington on August 1, 1931. He was a graduate of Yakima Valley High School.
He married the love of his life, Virgie E. Thomas on February 16, 1957.
He retired from Yakima County Public Works in 1993 after 24 years of service. He was instrumental in forming the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department in 1963 and was an active member until 1989. He was also active as a 4-H member for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virgie Reidt; a daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Thisius; a son, Pete (Shirley) Thomas; three sisters, Lucille Lockard, Earline Whitson, and Leona Holladay; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Deanna L. Farrington; a daughter, Patricia J. Sargent; a sister Pauline Stedman and a brother, Roy S. Reidt.
Bob was a very kind person who was always available to lend a hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed hobbies such as, woodworking and painting. He looked forward to decorating for Christmas each year, and created a winter wonderland in his own house and yard that was a sight for many who came to view it. He was a collector of many items to include hats, license plates, toy cars, and belt buckles.
Visitation will be 4pm – 8pm Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30th at Keith & Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Burial will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
