Robert "Jerry" Bunting

Jerry Bunting met the Lord on March 8, 2013 at Cottage in the Meadow. Jerry was born on September 6, 1943 in Yakima and was raised in Naches, graduating in 1961. He served 25 years as a fire fighter for the Naches Fire Department. Jerry owned and operated a service station in Naches before working at Pepsi Cola as a diesel mechanic, retiring from Freedom Freightliner in 2010. He was known as Coach Jerry, found on the softball fields, coaching women’s, men’s and co-ed Softball teams, taking great pride in the numerous accomplishments of these teams.

Jerry is survived by his wife Renee; daughter Marci Bunting of Long Beach, WA; son Craig (Crystal) Bunting, son Sean McCauley of Yakima, 5 grandkids (Tayllor Bunting) Stark, Ethan, Teryn, Liam, Logan Bunting; brother-in-law Roger (Barb) Campbell, Randy Campbell; sister-in-law Rhonda Campbell; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Corenne Bunting; son Mike Bunting and his mother-in-law Dolores Campbell.

The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Ha, North Star Lodge, Memorial Hospice and Cottage in the Meadow. Special thanks to sister-in-law Rhonda, her roommate Carol Hixson, George and Susie Thompson, and neighbors Ed and Alba Levesque for being by his side at all times.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the Ahtanum Youth Park Activities Building. Refreshments and desserts will be served after the memorial, please feel free to bring a dessert to share.
