

Robert “Bob” C. Mansfield, Sr., 86 of Yakima, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born December 18, 1924 in Sunnyside, WA to Herbert and Gladys (Hamlin) Mansfield.
He grew up in Sunnyside, but the family moved to Yakima in 1935. After graduating from Yakima High School, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon his return to Yakima, Robert met and married his future wife of 64 years Donna Vibbert. In 1953 he and Donna started a business that is currently known as Mansfield Alarm Company. Robert was a member of Masonic Lodge #24 since 1946.
Robert is survived by his wife Donna Mansfield of Yakima; son, Ronald (Jenny) Mansfield of Everett, WA; daughter, Linda (Skip) Rodvold of Yakima; nephew, Michael (Marta) Roettger of Yakima; pet, Mickey, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert C. Mansfield, Jr.; a brother, Bill Mansfield; and a sister, Marg Samsel.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011 and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2011 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
