Ronald Sterling Painter, 94, passed away April 23rd, 2025, quietly in his sleep.
Ron was born January 24th, 1931, in Grandview, Washington to Sterling and Ruth Painter. In 1947 at the young age of 16, he joined the Air Force where he worked as a first-class airman in the supply division. He was honorably discharged in 1953. In 1954 he married his bride, Darlene Surgeon. They were married for 70 years. Together they had three children, Connie, Steve, and Kathy. Ron was a supervisor for Holsum Bread Company and from there he worked in the construction field until his retirement.
Ron was kind and compassionate. He was well liked by everyone who knew him. He had a generous heart, and it was well known that he would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his children, and his grandchildren had a special place in his heart. Ron loved the Lord Jesus and made his relationship with Him a priority. His family is grateful for all his prayers because, "The prayers of a righteous man availeth much," James 5:16.
He was a hard worker, and he sacrificed for his family, making sure they had everything he didn't. He bought Connie her first car. Steve and Kathy got a motorcycle, and he bought Kathy and her friend, whom the family took in, matching vehicles.
Ron is survived by his wife, Darlene Painter, his children and their spouses Connie (Joe) Picinninni, Steve (Jayne) Painter, his grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Alex, and Natasha, great grandchildren, Kaiden, Ryder, Rylee, Hartley, Benjiman and Dracson.
Ron was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Painter.
