Ruby Christine Barquist died March 31,2011 at Highgate House in Yakima, WA. She was born September 14,1922 in Preston, WA. She was raised in Enumclaw, WA; where she graduated High School. She later met the love of her life, (Floyd Barquist) and they married in 1940. They raised their children in Yakima. Ruby loved her family & was a homemaker all of her life. She loved gardening and was a very active member of the Christian Science Church in Yakima. After retirement Ruby & Floyd traveled extensively. Their children & grandchildren were the world to them. She will be dearly missed.
Ruby is survived by a Son, Norman (Shirley) Barquist of Bainbridge Island, WA; 3 daughters, Lisa (Michael) Miller of Clearwater, FL; Beth (Gary) Mack of Battleground, WA; Carol Hixson & her roommate Rhonda Campbell both of Yakima, 7 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Calice & a great-grandson, Matthew Murray.
The family wants to express gratitude to the Highgate House staff for their excellent care.
At the request of the family there will be no funeral services. Keith & Keith funeral home is entrusted with the arrangements.
