August 22, 1940 – August 29, 2025
Sandra Anne Federspiel, 85, of Selah, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, in Melbourne, FL. She was born on August 22, 1940, in Regina, Saskatchewan, and as an only child, she developed a steadfast strength and a hopeful spirit that inspired others.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Federspiel. She is survived by her three sons and their families: Doug and Suzanne Federspiel of Yakima, WA, and their children Ace and Grace; Dustin Federspiel and Thao Huynh of Rockledge, FL, and their son Ryan; and Kirill and Trista Federspiel of Gainesville, GA, and their daughters Anya and Sveta.
In her early years, Sandra worked as a teller for her father at the Royal Bank of Canada. After marrying Larry, they embarked on a life of adventure, moving with his work to Sudbury, Ontario; New Jersey; New Orleans; and San Francisco, before eventually settling in Selah, Washington.
Sandra and Larry opened their home and hearts as foster parents to several children. She also extended her care to the community through her work at Agapeland Preschool in Selah, where she nurtured many young lives. Sandra’s faith was central to her life, and she was actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship, where she eventually served as a group leader.
She loved working in her garden and watching the birds that visited, and she earned certification as a Master Food Preserver. Sandra also had a deep affection for dogs, often keeping more than one by her side. Her warm spirit, generosity, and devotion to her family and faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
