

Terry Philip Tye, 67, of Yakima, WA passed away on September 3, 2016 at home. Terry was born in Everett on November 27, 1948 and grew up in Yakima. He graduated from West Valley High School and then went on to Yakima Valley College.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam era. He worked for the Washington State Migrant Council and retired from the Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic.
Terry’s hobbies included NASCAR, the Seattle Seahawks, pool night and playing cards with his buddies. He was always up for a good joke.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Floy Tye and his mother-in-law Edith Waterbury all of Yakima. He is survived by his wife, Verla Tye of Yakima; brother Virgil Mark Tye of Montana; sister Linda (Parry) Grover of Alaska; daughters Jennifer (Terry Burgess) Tye of Yakima and Lynsey Tye of Kent; two grandsons, Zack Tye and Jason Burgess both of Yakima; one great-grandson, Stylz Tye of Yakima; aunt Barbara Peterson of Spokane and father-in-law Dallas L. Waterbury of Moxee.
There will be a private gathering at a later date to celebrate Terry’s life. Donations may be made to the Yakima Humane Society.
