

Ted was born on December 27, 1932 in Harrison, Montana to Lewis & Dana Hankinson.
He graduated from Selah High School in 1951 and was a lettering member of the FFA.
He married Joanne J. Perman on August 4, 1956 and they welcomed their daughter Paula in 1959.
They lived and worked for Boeing in Kent, WA the first few years of marriage and returned back to the Selah area in 1969, living in the Wenas Valley the remainder of his life.
He held many jobs over his lifetime including as an Airline worker at Boeing, delivering milk for Darigold (he had many interesting stories during this time), driving for Don Shuel’s Dumford Trucking and he owned Selah Building Supply.
Upon retiring in 1995, his focus turned to his woodworking & farming. He has been a member of the Washington State Grange for 75 years. He was an avid horseman and a long-time member of the Wenas Saddle Club and the Yakima Sheriff Posse Search & Rescue. He served on the Selah School Board and took great pleasure handing out diplomas at graduation ceremonies.
He has always been the one to call on by his family & friends for anything and everything they might need, from fixing something to delivering livestock, and he loved to make people laugh with his jokes.
He survived by his wife Joanne J. Hankinson, his brother Gary Hankinson, his daughter Paula D. Stevenson and her Husband Glen, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis & Dana Hankinson, Brothers Lewie & Vern Hankinson and sisters Marilee Lund & Cheryl Hankinson.
