Verla L. Bunce passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019 in her home surrounded by family. Verla was born in Wapato, WA on July 13, 1928, the daughter of Henry and Arminnie (Carl) Beaudry. She graduated from Wapato High School in 1946. Upon graduation, she took a position at the National Bank of Commerce for four years. In 1950, she married Melvin L. Bunce and together they raised a family of five children to whom Verla devoted her life. She delighted in being around her family and friends.
She was very proud of her French heritage and her Catholic faith. She was happiest when she could spend time at her rustic cabin, living the life of a pioneer woman. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casinos where she could take her chances on the slots.
Verla was preceded in death by husband Melvin L. Bunce, daughter Victoria Bunce, companion Gene Thomas, her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by sons Bud (Kay) Bunce, Mark (Howard) Bunce, Randy (Vikki) Bunce, daughter Valerie (Rod) VonLehe. Grandchildren Autumn Rose, Peter (Katie), Paul (Laurie), Chelsi (Bryan), Tayler, Danielle. Great Grandchildren Matthew, Evelyn, and Andrew as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
We would like to thank the staff of Astria Home Health and Hospice for their assistance and support to the family and Verla during her final weeks of life.
