Dear Uncle Bill,
I feel so blessed to have had you in my life.  You always spoke your truth - with kindness and humor.  You were one of a kind.  Your strength and love for your family and all things that were important to you inspired me.  Thank you for always having a welcoming smile and open heart.  You will be missed.

Bill was a man of great courage, intelligence, and common sense. He will be remembered for his kindness and hospitality. I was fortunate enough to help him do one thing he hated the most for the past five years, dishes. So, as I was standing there talking to him one day, I asked him, do you like doing dishes, he replied, I hate it. My favorite moment's were just knowing that he really appreciated sneaking into the clean kitchen at night to get a fresh cup of coffee. Bill will be greatly missed, but I won't say goodbye because when I light a scented candle for him his spirit will always be there.

Uncle Bill is how I remember him by name. Family man, faithful & loving husband, a well respected working man, dog lover, dodge lover, interesting conversationalist, intelligent, witty, and insightful. These are how I will always remember who he was. Uncle Bill will always be loved and missed. 

I think my Uncle Bill would like me to share my favorite memory.  I was around 10 years old and I watched Bill and Darline's children when they were little for a few weeks in the summer.  The kids wanted me to make them some Kool-ade and I did and told them they could have some when it was cold.  Uncle Bill came home for lunch and poured a big glass of refreshing Koolaid and drank a big drink.  He made a horrible face and spit it out.  I made the Koolaid with salt which was in a canister so I thought it was sugar.  He NEVER let me live that one down.  He never got mad at me, just laughed.

Bill Johnston was a hardworking man who loved his wife and family very much.  He was a kind, good man.  He will be missed.  

years ago some  one dumped me off when I was about 4 months old. bill saved me and gave me great home.  we enjoyed cookies and coffee every morning and cheese every time he got it out .  he is now at peace with mom who he missed every day.

Bill was a very special friend. If you needed anything he was right there. Hard worker in whatever he did. He loved his Old English Sheep dogs. Spent many of hours grooming, training and showing. We used to travel with them in their motorhome with our daughter Mellisa. I remember one trip Mellisa (around 10 years old) said she was starving. Bill found a restuarant and we had breakfast. All Mellisa ordered was a half a grapefruit!! Bill kidded her about that for years!! He was such a caring person along with Darlene his wife. Hes now joined her in heaven. Rest in peace Bill.

Dad is survived by his sons Russell (fiancée Jane) and Rodney; daughter Christi (Rick) Hall; four grandchildren Andrew (Jamie) and John (fiancée Becca) Johnston, Megan and Randy Hall; great grandchildren Alex and Maddy, Bradley and River; sister Barbara (Lee) Johns; nieces and nephews; and his cats Gibbs and Proby. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Darline (Baker) Johnston.
