With deepest sorrow, we announce that Zachery Kempf passed on November 1, 2019. He was born on November 15, 2003 to Caleb and Ruth Kempf of Yakima. Zachery attended Eisenhower High School as a sophomore.

He was enrolled in all honors classes, and stood out academically in many areas. He participated in many school sports, including cross country, wrestling and tennis. He was a young man with great ambition and even greater dreams.

Above all measures, he was loyal and persistent in his love for his family and friends. Over the summer he worked for the Washington State Department of Ecology. He saved his hard earned money from tutoring numerous friends and cousins to build his computer and to pay for his drivers education course. Zachery had many hobbies; he enjoyed playing many different games on his PC, the strategic game of chess, riding many miles on his mountain bike, including a recent goal he had accomplished – a long distance trip to Wenas Lake (22 miles). Zachery made life an adventure.

Normally he could be found climbing the highest tree around, seeking great heights. After looking for him for far too long, you would eventually hear him say in his deep voice, “Hey, I’m up here,” followed by a deep laugh! He had the greatest talent of making sure you knew he was present. Zachery’s valiant, punctual, compassionate, inventive & critically rational personality will forever live in our hearts. You’ve made many smile and you continue to as we share memories that will last us a lifetime. Ride on buddy, ride on.

A Celebration of Zachery’s life will be held at Breakthrough Church, 1220 Business Parkway, Union Gap, WA on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.keithandkeith.com.

Zachery, where do I even start with you. I’ve known you ever since third grade and from that point on you became one of my best friends, and longest friend I’ve had. It pains me to see you’re gone, but it relieves me that you’re finally at peace possibly humming country roads, take me home wherever you go. Man, I wish we spent more time together. I’ll miss the times we spent time together either outside or inside of school. I’ll miss your amazing free spirited, adventurous, and caring personality. I’ll also miss the mind you had. All those times you boosted my curiosity by asking thought provoking questions, and me and you trying to find out an answer. All those times we debated with people wether they were right or wrong about anything. And all those times you’ve motivated me to try my best and excel on whatever activities we worked on, making me feel like you were my rival. I’m sorry I took all those times with you for granted and how I didn’t realize how much I cared for you and not showing it enough. I’ll really miss you. Although you’re gone, everyone person you’ve impacted and created a bond with will always keep you alive in their hearts. And through us, you’ll never actually be forgotten or gone. We’ll all miss you Zachery, and thank you for making all these years we’ve spent with you some of the greatest. Rest easy brother.

Zach, I am so very sorry I let you down.
This morning while I was lying I got to thinking in all of the time I have known you I’m ashamed that I never took the few seconds to tell you that I loved you and that I was proud of you. Please find it within yourself to forgive me for that oversight.
I love you, Zach and I am so proud of you.

Zachery was my student in 2nd grade. I will remember him as a smart, fun and caring student. Whenever I saw him as he grew up, he always greeted me with a smile and I loved hearing updates on how well school was going for him. Rest in peace Zach.

My sweetest nephew, who we adored and loved so much. I can’t imagine our life without you. You had dreams and I was looking forward to seeing you achieve each one of them. You came to our house just to hang out, help cousin with math because you are such a genius or just helping us around the house. I just want people to know how caring and loving you are and such a kind young man who is always willing to help at all times, you were never a trouble to anyone so obedient to your parents, and always making sure that your cousins are well entertained by you. How I miss your sweet smile and the I love you’s you said back to me when I say I love you bud! I’m grateful for the life you shared with us, we will always celebrate you and love you so so much. Until we meet again Zack, we will meet again buddy. Love you so much.

“For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”

Zach was the first person I could truly rely on at IKE. My big brother who helped me in math and never judged me while I broke down over these little things. He was so funny and selfless to everyone around him, smart too and just an all around amazing person. I miss you more and more everyday Zach We all will do our best to stay happy because We know you hated when those around you were sad.. find peace wherever you reside and know you did good🖤

I had Zachary as a student when he was in 3rd grade and when I looped to 4th grade. He was such a neat kid and had an amazing mathematical brain, and a great sense of humor. I enjoyed having him both years and always thought he'd do something amazing in life. I am sad to hear of his passing and pray that he is at peace. I also send prayers to his family during this difficult time. RIP young man and know you were loved for and cared about by so many.
