

Yarmouth – Donald A. Estabrook, Sr., 82, of Yarmouth, passed unexpectedly on Friday September 26, 2014. He was born in Freeport on February 17, 1932, a son of the late Adelaide (Cleaves) and Jason Estabrook.
He was employed for 32 years by Texaco. After retirement in 1997, he enjoyed a part-time job in Orlando, Florida where he delivered ambulances all over the United States. One of the most memorable trips was to Yellowstone National Park. He has wintered in Orlando for the past 14 years.
He was a loving, caring spouse, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He took great pride in the care of his home, particularly his lawn and garden. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was proud of the moose he shot. Don particularly enjoyed his morning coffee with his youngest brother, Gene, who came every morning while he was in Yarmouth.
He enjoyed many trips to Prince Edward Island, where he had a summer cottage and after it was sold, he made a yearly visit for the “Palmer Road Picnic”, in St. Louis, PEI where he saw many of his current wife’s family. Don was a lifetime member of the Cumberland Farmers Club and American Legion Post 91.
Don is survived by his wife of 30 years, M. Joan Bernard Estabrook; three sons: Donald A. Estabrook, Jr., Eugene J. Estabrook, Jay S. Estabrook; his daughter Alicia Zupancic; his grandchildren: Susan Payson-White, April, Jasmine, Jay and Samantha Estabrook, Jennifer Block, Jack Zupancic, Jade Zupancic; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers: Earle E. Estabrook, Glenn A. Estabrook, Allen L. Estabrook, Gene A. Estabrook; his sister Sharon A. Hines; three stepchildren: Maria Grindle, Sonny Wells, Charles Wells; step-grandchildren: Jonathan Kenney, Christopher Wells, Kaicee Wells, Matthew Wells, Candace Wells; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Tibbetts, in 1980 and his grandson, James White, III, in 2003.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 30, from 5 – 7 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A funeral service will also be at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 1 at 10 AM with burial in Riverside Cemetery immediately after.
