

Donald was born on August 22, 1935 in Jamestown, NY, one of five siblings of Edith and Frank Johnson. Donald grew up in Jamestown, New York and was a woodsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served in the United States Army. Donald married his high school sweetheart, Donna Pohlman, in 1957 before moving to Maine. He was co-owner with his wife Donna at the South Portland Nursing Home for over 40 years.
He loved fishing on the Kennebec River and hunting with his favorite dogs. Donald was a tri-state area champion for game silhouette shooting. He golfed at the Falmouth Country Club, enjoyed skeet shooting at the Scarborough Fish and Game Association.
Donald is survived by his three daughters: Kathleen Tranter and her husband Hal and their daughters Stephanie Tranter and Erica Dunn and two grandchildren, Isaac and Evelyn Dunn; Nancy Broderick and her husband Robert; Carol Berg and her husband Eric and son Matteas; his sisters Helen Fearing and Betty Zweimer.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, from 2-6 pm at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
